Notes 1) The limiting current is given by \[I_{\rm{lim}} = 1.59\ kz Fr^{3/4} d^{-1/2} V_{\rm{f}}^{3/4} \upsilon^{-5/12} D^{2/3} c\] where 1.59 is a numerical factor that arises from the mathematical solution to the convective-diffusion system, \(k\) is an empirical factor with values between 0.90 and 0.96, \(z\) the electron number of an electrochemical reaction, and \(F\) the Faraday constant, \(r\) is the radius of the disc electrode (\(\rm{cm}\)), \(d\) is the diameter of the impinging jet (\(\rm{cm}\)), \(V_{\rm{f}}\) is the volume flow rate (\(\pu{cm3 s-1}\)), \(\nu\) the kinematic viscosity (\(\pu{cm2 s-1}\)), and \(D\) the diffusion coefficient of the electroactive species (\(\pu{cm2 s-1}\)) of concentration \(c\) (\(\pu{mol cm-3}\)). 2) The current is not directly proportional to the electrode area.
