Antibody against molecules of the red blood cell, usually against membrane proteins, causing lysis of the red blood cells.

Note
Maternal IgG antibodies specific for the Rhesus (Rh) factor blood group antigen expressed against the erythrocytes of the fetus may lead to hemolytic disease of the newborn.
