Period in an emulsion polymerization during which no new particles are formed and monomer droplets are present.

Note
This interval is associated with an approximately constant value of the average number of radicals per particle, an approximately constant value of monomer concentration in the particles, and, thus, an approximately constant rate of polymerization.
