The measure (\(\rm{h}^{-1}\),\(\rm{d}^{-1}\)) of the rate of growth or multiplication of an organism or a culture, usually expressed as specific growth rate (the increase of mass or cell number per time unit referred to the unit of mass, \(\frac{\rm{d}(\ln X)}{\rm{d}t}\)).
