Monosubstitution products of hydrogen peroxide (dioxidane), $\ce{HOOH}$, having the skeleton $\ce{ROOH}$, in which $\ce{R}$ is any organyl group. Compounds in which $\ce{R}$ is acyl are known as peroxy acids.
