A carbocation the ground state of which has delocalized (bridged) bonding $\ce{\uppi\!\mbox{-}}$ or $\ce{\upsigma\!\mbox{-}electrons}$. (N.B. Allylic and benzylic carbocations are not considered nonclassical.)
