abbrev: IgM
https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.13293
Class of immunoglobulin (Ig) characterized by \(\upmu\) heavy chains.
Notes:
  1. It is the first immunoglobulin to appear on the surface of B cells and the first to be secreted.
  2. Unlike other immunoglobulins that exist in the monomeric (IgA, IgD, IgE, and IgG) or dimeric (IgA) state, IgM is found in the blood as a pentamer.
